Members Cirrus
The joeydahlia method Seriously though, a random offset of up to 20ms? why?
Members nightflameauto
Seriously though, a random offset of up to 20ms? why? Too lazy to record a second track, or even dare I say a panning delay of some type for stereo imaging. In joeydahlia's case it was also to troll about phasing while introducing intentional phasing into his recordings.
Members Valtiel
Haha. It sounds pretty good. Put a bass on it. 40 bassesDon't {censored}in' tempt me cause i'm just dumb enough to do it. In fact.....*grabbing bass*
Members Warhorse
It sounds like four audible tracks and 36 subliminal ones. seriously though, not as massive as thought it would sound but really cool.
Members Valtiel
Updated with 20 tracks of bass, my fingers are too tired for 40. http://soundcloud.com/valtiel/37-apprentices
Members gt_jumper
More and more I don't do doubles. If played tightly you can get away with an assload of layers but I'm starting to feel like it doesn't really add much. You get a little more smoothness due to slight inconsistencies between takes but I am starting to really like the clarity you get with single takes on each side. If this was facebook, i would "like" this comment. I sometimes get the guitarist to do a third take, but very rarely is it audible.
Members nightflameauto
That surprises me. It still sounds alright. I usually only do one take on bass to keep some punch in the overall mix no matter how many guitar tracks their are. Of course, it's processed on at least three separate aux sends and then woven back together, but it's a single take. I really figured bass would sort of mush out once you get more than a couple layers on it.
