Members lenster
Just curious, as i am a big fan of using delay and i'm constantly fiddling with delay times n mix levels. For me i generally have a very short delay with low mix on all my channels, seems to thicken my tone playing in a trio. Just my personal taste. For leads generally around 375 - 450 ms 3 repeats and mix at around 30%.Any tricks u guys use for the use of delay in any situsation? Members Dewysoss
Boss DD7 on analog mode. Can't stand digital delay. I only use it on leads or clean passasges, but I come from the Devin Townsend school of thought which is a pretty damn high mix with {censored}loads of repeats. I use the tap tempo to adjust per song. I'll do some dotted 8th {censored} here and there too, adds nice texture to a percussive pattern.
Members maggotspawn
500-550 ms, medium to low repeats, medium to low mix. I really like how Dave Navarro used delay with Jane's Addiction. I try to get that vibe.
Members squinty
Play with the time a lot.I use a T-Rex Reptile about the same delay time as you (370-400ms) at about 30-50% with the tape echo settings on most of the time.200 ish gives you that '60s Rockabilly delay.750-800 gives you Dave Gilmore.1500 ish harmonising delays. Members guidedbyechoes
Depends on the type of delay. And the application.
Members guitarbilly74
For leads I use low feedback (1 repeats) and about 10% mix, so there is just a touch of delay, more than that will mess up my alternate picking runs. As far as delay time goes, it depends of the song.
