Members DarkIntension
Hey guys! It's been such a long time since I've posted here. Within the past few years I've been away at school doing somethings I never saw myself doing and was content, however, within the past few months I have rediscovered how full of life I feel when it comes to making music! I started stumbling upon these awesome deals and led me back to here. And boy, have I missed the circus of a show this place is and all of its lovely creatures. And enough of the sentimental stuff! So yesterday, my lovely woman decided to get me an early Xmas gift and knew I have been back into recording a lot lately and decided to order me some room treatment. It had awesome reviews and was just what I was looking for. I was wondering why I was spending $400 on a mic and more on everything else and why I hadn't treated my room. Now, although I know this doesn't give me a pro studio, let's face it, it gets you far from an untreated room. Now the funny thing was, I realized after picking up the giant box of foam that this would be glued onto my wall with the TubeTak Pro (apparently really sticky stuff). So, as I sat there staring at the box wondering if I should take it back, based on the fact that I was planning on moving in a few months, I had realized that I had a lot of fresh cardboard and 3M sturdy velcro strips! So I decided to go to work... It was actually a really fun process! Then again, I love handy tasks. I just tak'd them to the cardboard and let them dry and then cut the leftover cardboard around the edges and the end result was this. This is the cut that will be going on my ceiling after I purchase more velcro tabs (which hold amazingly well!) I haven't been able to put all of them up and there's already a noticeable difference. And there is still more pads left over (comes with 36)! Amazon should be bringing me my GLS ES-57 (SM57 clone) and I plan on doing some recording (and can review that as well if you guys want ) with that to give me some proof of measure. Whatcha guys think? The Norb

They translate extremely well and they sound huge. I like that they aren't too heavy at all. Got them for a STEAL and couldn't pass it up. They're what rekindled my passion for recording. Members sled
I'm move those monitors out from the wall. You'll want to move the treatments too. Also, I'd consider better managing the table top early reflections.
