Members kayak
Any suggestions on how to go about adding side dots to a guitar or bass that doesn't already have them? My immediate concern is an instrument with a nitro-laquer finish. Is there any way I could "paint" on dots that would be semi-permanent, but could be removed if I wanted to restore the instrument to original condition? Also interested in hearing about permanent, inlaid, solutions.
Members mrbrown49
Not sure about temporary solutions but this a permanent method. Drill, insert, trim flush, touch up finish. http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Bindings,_trim/Trim:_Side_dots/Plastic_Side_Dot_Material.html
Members katillac
oom tss oom tss oom tss oom tss. If you don't like the glow, I know I've seen other sellers with stick-on side dots. Just go to the guitar listings and put this in the search: side (dots, markers) Include the parentheses. That "tells" the search to look for the word side and either dots or markers. Members sailorman
my classical guitar teacher used to put one dot on the 7th with white out. Classicals never have any dots whatsoever; you're just 'supposed to know'. Fortunately, my Godin Nylon Multiac has all the usual dots; very helpful.
