Compliment well deserved. I seem to spend most of my time dreaming about the collection of fantastic guitars I will someday own - right after I win the lottery - and your amazing work always figures prominently in those dreams.

Members EvilTwin Posted February 24, 2006 Members Posted February 24, 2006 Garrison is Canadian, and I dig 'em. I think Canada is truly making some of the finest acoustics out there. Even my little old Seagull knocks my socks off.
Members knockwood Posted February 24, 2006 Members Posted February 24, 2006 There is this dude: http://www.buffalobrosguitars.com/images16000-16999/ngb16776-weberom/index.html And Jeff Sigurdson:http://www.sigurdsonguitars.com/photos/index.htm And Morgan:http://www.morganguitars.com/ And Grit Laskin (arguably the best inlay dude on the planet):http://www.williamlaskin.com/ And probably a ton of other northward geniuses I'm forgetting.
Members Cldplytkmn Posted February 24, 2006 Members Posted February 24, 2006 mmmm webber... i think he's my favorite canadian builder beside larrivee... love his stripped down look... i've played a couple of them and they had me wanting one bad. very reasonable pricing as well, IMHO. (its funny though that they misspelled it on buffalo bro's website... weBer is known for their mandolins... weBBer is the guitar builder in BC)

Didn't even notice that. Posted the OM pic from Buf Bros. 'cause I love their pics, and the cedar top on that git sets me off on daydreams. David Webber's site:http://www.webberguitars.com/ The prices are unbelievably kickass. Same with Sigurdson. The truly frustrating part is knowing it won't always be this way, but not being able to do anything about it... I mean I know 2k is a freakin' steal for gits of this caliber, but by the time I have 2k, I won't even be able to look at one...
Members Cldplytkmn Posted February 24, 2006 Members Posted February 24, 2006 i believe that David's 05 base price was 2200 list... its now at 2500... and it aint gonna come back down. A dealer relatively close to me has one of his guitars, brand new, for under 2 grand... spruce/rosewood OM with cocobolo binding... crazy. rosewood/cedar is a cool combo
Members DenverDave Posted February 24, 2006 Members Posted February 24, 2006 Here's another newer Canadian builder: Heath Hales - Thomsley guitars. http://www.thomsleyguitars.com/ I own a Canadian guitar (Paragon), and other than having to use Pelican Bay Brown Ale instead of water in the humidifier, it's a great guitar. There are a lot of great independant builders in Canada right now.
Members scoutll Posted February 24, 2006 Members Posted February 24, 2006 I don't see it mentioned yet, sooooo.... What about Boucher and Norman. Paternal half siblings if I'm not mistaken.
Members lespauldouble Posted March 5, 2006 Members Posted March 5, 2006 Most of them can be found on the site. Members are all very well versed on the builders. Check them out. Click on the link below,
Members Shredkratcher Posted March 8, 2006 Members Posted March 8, 2006 How about Heiden guitars? I played one many years back and was quite impressed.
