Anyone played both the Yamaha FG412S and FG730S?

Your FG412S seems to be identical to my FG413S (solid spruce top, laminate nato sides and back, nato neck, etc.) It appears that the 412 is the European model of the 413. The 413 came out in the early 2000's.

Here's a link to the Eurpean FG's from that time period:

They are both identical to the FG-720S specs (solid spruce top, laminate nato sides and back, nato neck, etc.). The FG-730S features laminate rosewood sides and back.

Otherwise, they do not seem to be any different tone-wise or quality-wise.

IMO.

Hudman,

I've been looking at some things on eBay. One of the guitars I'm watching is an FG423S.

I would assume that the 423S would be similar to a 413S. You say this is similar in sound to a 700S series? I really like the 700S.
