Members DarkHorseJ27 Posted December 13, 2007 Members Posted December 13, 2007 Does anyone here us an Ebow on their acoustic? If so, how do you like it? Do you find that it works better with a soundhole pickup? Is there any way to make it sound more natural?

I've never thought of trying one on an amplified acoustic--but now I must. Damn. Stocking stuffer for myself, maybe? You see, one of my favorite all-time songs is R.E.M.'s "Ebow the Letter". Between Patti Smith's backing vocals and the Ebow sound itself, together with the stream-of-consciousness Stipe wordplay that makes it almost impossible to cover...and it's a beautiful tune besides...oh yeah. This I must try.
Members Terry Allan Hall Posted December 13, 2007 Members Posted December 13, 2007 I use an Ebow on a few "trio" tunes (never figured out anything for solo gigs using it)...no magnetic P/U, only UST. W/ a good digital delay setting, you can do some very cool things!Kinda cool on my banjos, too!
