Thin magnetic p/u that clips onto the bottom of the sound hole...about 5/16 of an inch thick...don't recall the name, but seems like it was made in France.


Barcus-Berry used to make a very similar model that usede double sided tape.

 

 

A stimer pickup? Could be... although it's unusual to see them out of the soundhole, like this. They are the pickups used by Django in the days (most "electric Django" recordings are actually him on a Selmer with a stimer), and still a classic in the gypsy jazz community.

 

Dupont builds a stimer reissue, and you can probably still find originals on ebay.
