Members Stackabones
Today is Chaplin's birthday. This was written by Chaplin for his last film, Limelight. I haven't seen this, yet. TCM is playing some classics today in honor of Chaplin's BD ... so set the DVR!
Members jamesp
Thanks Bones. Another add to the Netflix queve. Not a great video by any stretch, but here's another Chaplin tune covered shortly and sweetly by Chet Atkins. Chaplin wrote Smile as an instrumental theme for Modern Times. Happy Birthday Charlie!

Sweet version. I haven't seen Modern Times in a while, so I DVR'd it today. I need to put Limelight in my queue, too -- or check my library! Members jamesp
Paulette Goddard! My brother plays Smile in 7/4. Says he first heard Chick Corea do it that way. The bro makes it sound like a stretched swing six, but when I play along it sounds more like a broken polka.

I know that changing tunes to 7/4 (or other odd meters) is/was a big thing at some of the jazz universities among the profs and students ... must've come from guys like Corea?
