Members kwakatak
I'm planning on a weekend trip to visit my mother who's retired to Norfolk/Virginia Beach. She's been wanting to see me play at an open mic and being that I'm going to be traveling solo (sans wife and kids) I'm actually looking forward to it. If anybody knows of any decent open mics in the area (where it's not an afterthought to just sell more beer or an alternative to investing in a karaoke machine) I'd really appreciate it. Also, since I'll be "free" I'd also like to check out the local music shops and see if there are any Yamaha or Blueridge dealers in the area. Can anyone help me out with ideas here as well? Members myTakamine
I've heard lots of good things about Alpha Music. I keep intending to stop by when I'm visiting my parents, so you need to go and let me know what you think. Members kwakatak
Thanks! I see that they're a Yamaha dealer and they have an LL6 Sunburst. I might have to talk my mom into "warehousing" a guitar for me.
Members WashburnGuy
Was there a couple of years ago and did an open mic at Abbey Road. Don't know if they still do it but it was a cool place. LOTS of Beatle memorabelia all over the place.
Members kwakatak
^ Thanks, it looks like they're still doing it but it's on Tuesday nights. I was shooting for a weekend getaway.
