A deal I would be cautious on. They usually go for around $2,500. So, $1k off seems like there's something wrong or it's some kind of scam. Have a link?

I won it, cross my fingers..

I can always use my "Item Significantly not as described" card.. :)

What should I be weary of once I get it, other than obvious stuff, cracks, etc. Could it be a clone possibly? Non valid serial number, etc?

That seller has a marginal feedback record. That usually equates to lower bidder confidence, therefore lower selling prices. Says it's new. At that price I wouldn't expect it to be warranted as a new guitar.

It does say GIULD on the headstock, is that normal? :)

I hope not! It should say "GUILD"

Since you already bought it, be optimistic. Check the serial number with Guild. If it isn't a real, new Guild D-55 you have recourse with Ebay/Paypal. If it is a real, new Guild D-55, you got a helluva good deal.

It's a beauty. I always wanted a sunburst D55. Congratulations.

Go to www.letstalkguild.com and ask about this guitar.

They'll be real helpful. They probably already noticed it

in the EBay forum.

Was it made in CT or in Tacoma? It could be a second from CT.

Or it could be a Tacoma. Either way - it looks like you landed

a real beauty.

If it's a second, it will have something stamped on the back of the

head-stock, "Not for re-Sale" or something like that.

An antique sunburst D55 is as good as it gets in acousticdom.

Congratulations. Even if there are little flaws -- I'd keep it.

The CT Guild D55's will have open-back tuners. The Tacoma ones

will still have the closed Grovers.
