Members XXX
You mentioned something about picking up a dremel to do a neck scallope , thats overkill . Its very easy to do , esp if its a rosewood neck with just 80 grit sandpaper and a pencil or various sized wood dowels . Just do go too deep is all , and you dont need much depth in each scallope at all .
Members Twangzilla
I usually use a chisel and a 12 lb dead blow but if that works for you, great. Kyle G

Kyle G we are talking about scalloping a neck not filing out a nut slot .

Can they get exposed if they are installed to close to the top of the fretboard? There's one strat neck I have laying around and the side dots are right in the middle of the rosewood, instead of right on the seam of the maple and the rosewood, like some of my others guitars. It seem like they would get exposed pretty quickly if you went too deep.....

Members TheDarxide
I only did the high frets, and i used a half moon file. You don't need to go too deep, it depends on how rough you are. I stopped when i could no longer feel wood under my finger tips.
