Members Danny G
I have coil taps on my '79 Iceman. I had a SD Custom 5 in it, then switched out to another pickup, only to return to the Custom 5. I drew a detailed wiring diagram before I removed the Custom 5. When I re-installed it, suddenly the coil tap doesn't work. When I flick the switch, the PU turns off rather than taps. I followed the diagram I drew to a T, and the previous PU I installed worked just fine. What the hell am I doing wrong?
Members TheDarxide
My only suggestion is that you've wired it wrong.....
Members Pengrin
Take a break before re-checking. I often wire stuff up then get really pissed off when it doesn't work and miss seeing something that is obviously wrong. IMHO.
Members Armitage
Probably wiring, but you may even have damaged the switch by over heating it.
Members acravero
Are you using the same switch? If so, how do you have it wired, and what type of switch is it? Here's a good wiring site for humbuckers with switches (various): http://guitarelectronics.zoovy.com/category/wiringresources.1wiringdiagrams.humbuckerwiringmods/ Good luck!
