Members Chorused Clean
Anyone have experience with these? Major differences between them and locking Sperzels.Thanks.
Members _pete_
I have a set on my Dillion. So far I like them. The guitar stays in tune with whammy use and that was what I wanted. They do make string changing very easy. I'll most likely put a set on mt Strat and my Epi SG. The Epi has Grovers but they seem to have a lot of slop in them. Members Chorused Clean
Thanks pete n. This may sound like a stupid question, but do you still have to wind strings around the post if you are using locking tuners or can you just pull them directly through the peg holes and tune up? I have heard that some people who use locking tuners still wind the string around the peg to prevent any possible slippage? I don't quite understand that. I though "locking tuners" are supposed to elliminate the need to do that hence "locking".
Members _pete_
No I don't wind them at all. The winding is where you get tuning problems.
Members Chorused Clean
So you just pull the string through, tighten with thumb screw and wind?

Members batotman
You don't really wind them around the peg at all. You pull the string tight, lock it, tune up and it will cut the string end. I think they work pretty well.

Members TheMadMonk
Winding them is what causes slippage! Don't wind them!

Members ericlaurence
how easy is it to insall new tuners? i've never done it before and wonder if it requires any special tools or skills besides a screw driver.
Members Mosby
Depending on the guitar, and tuners being installed, it may require some drilling.
