Members 2manband Posted November 14, 2005 Members Share Posted November 14, 2005 I'm interested in using audio (.wav) drum tracks that I've recorded with close mics on an acoustic set to trigger sampled drum sounds. I've recorded in a studio where I beleive we did this on the kick drum, (I'm not the drummer, BTW) but I don't have any experience with doing it personally. I basically just want to open up some options for my band's drum sound. If I'm not mistaken, this can be done "in the box" - without triggers and a drum module. I'd imagine there's a threshold that I set so that the intended drum triggers the sample, and the bleed from other drums on the kit doesn't - as such, I'd guess that it works better on some drums (kick) than others (rack toms) Can anybody recommend software to accomplish this? Is there anything available as freeware? Even if it's not great, I'd like to try out the technique to see how it fits with our sound before making much of an investment. Any input is appreciated.
