Members Magpel
Look: red strat plus--or some flavor of strat with lace sensors--and a strange white knob just below the bridge...anyone?
Members Tmoxness
AFAIK, it blends in the acoustic piezo pickup.
Members One-armed Alec
His Strat has a piezo pickup as well as the three magnetic ones. As far as I can recall, the extra pot blends the piezo in with the overall sound. You can see/hear this in action on the "Live at the Albert Hall" DVD. Members boxhollow
That guitar has a fishman/emg acoustic pickup in the body. The knob is to blend that pickup so he can get acoustic sounds or other combo's.
Members dangerine49
That is correct. BTW, those are Clapton signature Strats that he has modified with the piezo pup.

I believe he might have outboard controls for it also

Either way no biggie.
Members One-armed Alec
What's that knob on Townshend's Strat? Another answer to that question might have been: "It's Townsend." I'm not sure if that works in other English-speaking countries...http://www.peevish.co.uk/slang/k.htm
Members hondro
some more information how weird would it be to have a Fender Pete Townshend Signature Strat?? a double signature maybe?? and what's with his guitars?? First the LP deluxe, then he switched to the Strats in the early 80's I prefer his earlier work with stock SG specials and stock LP deluxes, and of course I love his Rickenbacker work:cool: and thats a great site by the way:thu:
