Members auronius123
yeah thats what im thinking, i dont see what it could do? perhaps create some extra field of electricity? that or be a nice gimmick
Members jjpistols
I think you're supposed to wire it in - the pics just show how it could be mounted, not installed
Members auronius123
i suppose that makes more sense, id love to see someone try it. anyone up for a pair of active single coils
Members ending_zero
This is an active boost circuit for passive pickups. It will not convert your passive pickups to active pickups. They should have engineered this for use with 25k pots.

If using this as a master device then grab a 50K low impedance pot as wel what would the difference be?
Members ending_zero
25k pots are easier to find. You can get push/pull pots if you want to set up the switchable gain boost that's described. It looks like they also have a 25dB boost circuit here. Members ending_zero
They might be long enough. The page doesn't say. It might depend on the guitar. There's no question about the long shaft 500k pots that they sell. I think EMG includes long shaft 25k pots with the ZW sets. Had they set this circuit up to use 25k pots, it would make it possible to mix active and passive pickups on the same guitar. That would be a big selling point. It would also give them a reason to source and stock 25k pots. There is a much larger market for them (though it's probably still pretty small). It just seems like a bad choice all around, but there may be valid reasons I haven't considered.
