Members unistudent1980
the guitar port one, that's a pretty good list. I'd only question John Lennon, the edge, (IMO their success had more to do with lyrics rather than guitar playing) Dave Navarro, Morello, Mick mars and Johnny Ramone and Bonnie Raitt. (Navarro I just don't rate. Morello is pretty good, but one of the top 100 all time I don't know? Johnny R and Mick M great catchy hooks but not the most challenging stuff as both have admitted). All the rest were/are the standard beares for thier genre during their peak at the least if not still today. Obviously some genres are better represented due to the tastes of today. Members Burgess
That list is more reality based than any list I've seen published recently. Not quite sure how they missed George Benson but at least they did get Wes Montgomery...
Members ToeJamFootball
Kirk and James in front of Nuno and Paul gilbert. what a joke!!!
Members cincy_cosmo
Terry Kath didn't make the list at all on the GuitarPort list? The list in the first post at least had him the top 50. I contend he could play better than most of the top 10...he just died to young to prove it.
Members Burgess
Yeah, there's a lot of guys that could've been on that list however, for the most part the guys that are there deserve it. I mean, how often do you see Charlile Christian make one of these lists?
