Members jmingo
Hi I have a Jazzmaster, and the whammy bar pol that sticks out of the brisge plate thing is pretty loose, how can i tighten it? Can i just screw the pole clockwise, or does the screw under the whammy locking button do something?? Any help would be great!! thanks

Members jjpistols
what kind of Jazzmaster? what gauge of strings? Note: Some vintage systems seem to have very strong springs, so that the "balanced" position will not be possible even with the tension loosened as far as possible. This happens usually with string sets lighter than .11s (.10s on the JM).
Members jmingo
i tightened it up by turning it counter clockwise... now after screwing with the tremolo screw, its way out of tune... i tell ya, this guitar gives me so much trouble, but it sounds sooo good and plays so good... what to do. Members jjpistols
it says in that link it will affect tuning - turn, the retune several times don't get fed up over it - it's working the way it should, just take a bit of time to find the sweet spots
