Members SynysterGates7
its for a jackon slsmg. mahogony body and neck, ebony board, neck-thru. it's super thin, think inbaez S series. running into a 6505+. plenty of gain, so i'm thinking of a moderate output pup. i play hard rock, metal, and every suffix in between. suggestions? Members Rock_Borg
I have that guitar and I use the EMG-ZW set with the 18v mod to it and it just screams! I play metal through a 5150
Members GAS Man
You'll want to keep the pup "warm" if it's a thin body. I'd look into a Duncan Custom V or a DiMarzio Tone Zone Didn't like the EMG HZs? (I haven't heard those yet)

(I haven't heard those yet) to not like them is an understatement. i've had many high end ESPs with EMGs, and i really don't see what the big deal is. i think its in people's head that if it takes a battery or 2, it must be better. i could see if it was meant specificly to have an active EQ in the pup, but to just add more output, i don't see it. and the HZs are not good at all. the ones in it anyways. alexi laiho uses HZ4s, which i would think sound better, but then again, he's endorsed for it, so who knows.
