Here are my recording levels with the C30.

Normal:3-4
Pre: 8-12(if i want an overdrive or a distortion)
Post: 4-6 (depending on how much distortion i want)
Reverb: 0-4
Bass:3-5( to me this amp is voiced pretty dark so i like to keep that down)
Mid: 10
Treble: 12

it's a sweet amp for sure. this song was recorded with the C30 just to give you a rough idea of my settings.. a compression pedal was the only pedal used, it's all mostly the amps natural overdrive.

keep in mind it is a weak mix. a few things got buried. (like the guitar and bass drum/snare)

How the hell are you guys playing at bedroom volumes with the vol. at 3-4?

Mine gets very loud past 2.
:)
Granted it's in a smallish room.

Good thread, btw!

(And nice clip, mr Freeze! That sounds very good)

thanks bro:thu:

yeah, bedroom level, my normal is usually 1 1/2 - 2. pre is still cranked (i think?) i haven't bedroom jammed in awhile, my amp has been at the studio for the past month (we've been working on an album), and the post is about 2-2 1/2 but damn that distortion just sounds so much better at 6!!! haha.

My music room is 12 feet wide and 30 feet long...and I don't have any neighbors within a couple hundred yards.

I rarely play mine on the clean channel below 3 and the dirty channel below 4.

Volume is really only an issue if my wife is trying to sleep.

Here's a pic of my 'studio' taken from one end to the other. This is before I had everything setup, just after I finished the woodwork.

And here it is with all my crap in it.

My C50 has a "bright" input and a normal input. The amp seems to have treble to burn, so I usually use "normal" as the input and keep treble at 5. I also keep the reverb lower, about 3 or 4. I keep presence at around 6. I don't usually let pre-gain go higher than 6 or so, because the EEL84's really lay on the distortion, and I need to stay hear-able in the mix. I usually use my distortion channel as a sort of solo gain control.

I set the normal (clean) channel wherever I want it to be, then set post-gain so the distortion channel sounds louder.
