Could I put a Bigsby on a tele w/o a mod to the tele body (or at least the top)

You get a Tele with a factory installed Bigsby. There is no real other way.

As someone else said there are trems out there that work on a tele without any permanent modification but i'm pretty sure any bigsby (for the tele at least) is not one of them

needs holes drilled on top and a new bridge plate, which would require new posts to be drilled, unless you use the stock vintage style bridjge, and then you need to file down notches on the back so the strings can pass over the saddles.
