Members Noak
I just fooled around a bit, recording some demo stuff for a blues rock kind of record that I might record some day, and I think I finally have found that strat tone I've been looking for! Really clear, but also punchy and nasty lead tone. Anyone else who found "their" strat tone? And what gear is that? Have a listen to this clip of one of the solos (the guitar track was recorded live and I thought this solo sounded best) and tell me what you think! Try to guess what guitar I'm playing, that might be interesting. The amp i my Rivera Knucklehead (like the one in my avatar) through my Marshall 1960AV with Vintage 30's. Oh, the song is called "Bluesy tuesday" at my soundclick page: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=673453 Any comments are welcome! Members strathappy
Yeah Dude! That was very nice tone, a little fuzzy for my liking but very "stratty". What guitar were you using?

Members HRM
I can dig it. Though, I'm not even gonna ATTEMPT to guess at {censored}.
Members bloolight
You know, that is a massive blues tone. I wouldn't say it screams "Strat" to me, however. It just screams, "Hey, I'm a freakin' awesome blues tone!" It makes me jealous. The playing also makes me jealous. Good work.

Members Noak
Wow, thanks for your comments, I really appreciate that, since I don't come out and play too often, being wihtout a band Well, the guitar is not what I'd call "{censored}" It's a Godin Artisan ST that I got a really good deal on used, stock pickups (they are "dual blade" like fast tracks or hot rails), Wilkinsson trem and Schaller locking tuners. When I bought it I figured that the tuners and tremolo would be more expensive to buy apart than this whole guitar.
Members BootRoots
ha I would have guessed that was a lester if I hadn't read the thread. I love the tone though.
Members Noak
My Les Paul sounds a lot fatter than that, might be the gibson 490R pickup. Hmm, perhaps time for another PuP swap?
