Members ILikeGuitar
how do you tell what gauge the stock strings are on a guitar when you first get it? just to know when you replace them... you might want to select the same gauge

Members bluelegacy
If it's new they're probably 9's or 10's. The mfr. might have it listed on their site's faq/support section.

Members Highway_61
As stated, check out the manufacturer's site for a spec list or FAQ. I have one of these $17.00 micrometers that I have found to be invaluable: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260128430229

Members EveryMn
ok well say it came with 9s, and i wanted to go use 10s and i just got a setup done with 9s.. would i have to adjust anything, or is it ok because its a minor change in gauge? It'd be fine. I think people worry way too much about minor changing in string gauge. Now, if it had 9-42s and you wanted to use 11-5xs, then I'd start thinking about ssome adjustments.
