Members GarysBlues
Lot of gear came out of Japan in the 60's. The market was realized from watching the Classic Rock boom. Thats how all the LP-Copies started their. Nobody was building them HERE?

Members bruto
You're likely thinking of Teisco. They had 2, 3, or 4 pickups, switches and knobs all over the place, and usually very high actions. The high action led slide players to pick up on these in the 70s and 80s as they were cheap, and some had high gain, single coil pick ups - like a Gretsch Filtertron. Now they get pricey as slide players buy them as well as anyone looking for something different. Kawai still owns the name (they always did) and the company that currently manufactures Mosrite also makes a modern version of the Teisco. Some Teiscos are badged Kawai. They also Manufactured many of the other brand name guitars coming out of Japan. Many were Tesico. I always liked the Kents too. I have came across a few that played and sounded very nice!
