Members seraphim7s
I am in the market for something with P-90s - I just love the sound of 'em. I'm a bassist so this will mainly be for recording, but some live work may be involved in the future. ... could any of yuz let me know which guitars now come with P-90s as their stock pups? So far I know that the LP Goldtop, LP Junior and Epiphone Casino came with P-90s ... anything else? I am not a guitarist, so shelling out megabucks on an LP is not gonna happen btw what about the Epiphone LP Goldtop?

Members sqrnookle
Well, ones that look rather pretty to me:- Half the Reverend range. I quite like the look of the Daredevil and Manta Ray models, the Roundhouse, and the Charger 290- The Gibson SG Classic/Junior- The Squier Tele Custom II.There's a few suggestions - hope they help! Members Jamm
I agree with the aforementioned Gibson Sg Classic. There's no epiphone version, but dishing out the extra bucks would definitely be worth it.
Members GarysBlues
Check E-Bay for a set-neck GIBSON Melody Maker from the 01-03 range. They look like THIS, and go for around $300. in excellent shape! Set-Neck USA Gibson for small bucks!!!!Before and after.

Seraphim, in this country, you should look out for an Epi Gold Top 56RI, and if possible one with an "I" serial number, they are quite superb, and the stock Epi pups are excellent, indeed a wel known forumite and builder prefers them to the Gibson models. Other value alternatives, Squier Tele Custom II less than
Members perceive
Don't forget Edwards guitars as per my sig... I play it against my LP classic and its definitely a keeper....The model number for it I believe is E-LP-92SD/P

Members GarysBlues
I like the GTs with P-90's also. And basically down the road you could always drop in a set of Lollars or Gibsons in. Yuo know it depends on what your looking for. I was also looking for 1-pup P-90. In the LP-JR style. So for me the MM was right up my alley. I have also seen PRS SE Soapbars go for $325. here with upgraded pick-ups. Can't remember what forum member owns it. But its here for sure. i remember the pups being a Gibson and a Seymour Duncan. Thats a HELL of a deal and a very good playing fiddle. I like the LP-DC fadeds used for $5 bills also. And the Epi Casino's and Wildcats are nothing to sneeze at used for around $35O. either? Depends if you want a Semi or Solidbody!
Members seraphim7s
Hey Ratae ... that's niiice. And as you can see in my sig - I am a big believer in the Jap stuff. Man, I am gonna have to check out some of that Edwards gear. Thanks!
Members Brian Krashpad
I have 3 P-90 guitars, at 3 different (US) price points. Two are only available used, one has had a re-design and the new version is available (in US anyhow) new. The ones that are totally out of production are the USA Hamer Special, and the MIK Shecter Tempest Special:I got the Hamer w/no case/bag, VG condition, for $450 USD 5 or 6 years ago. Now they are running about $500-$700 USD, depending on condition/case. I got the Schecter last year for $250 USD, VG condition w/ohsc. Although the above Hamer Special is out of production I believe that Hamer USA is currently making a "Korina Special," which is their version of the one-pup Gibson LP Junior doublecut. However the korina models new will cost as much or more than a Gibby. On the cheap, Hamer has a MIK goldtop and quilt-top which (for reasons known only to Hamer!) are nevertheless called a "Sunburst Archtop," those look like this (while my USA Hamer Special, like the new USA korina Junior-ish model, have Seymour Duncan P-90's, the MIKs below have Duncan Designed):I also have one of the Agile models referred to in one of the posts above, their SG-based "Valkyrie II," the current model is called a Valkyrie III and looks a bit different:Because I bought at a model closeout, I got the Valkyrie (usually goes for about $240 USD) new for $99 USD (+shipping, no case/bag). I don't know if Rondo (the company that imports the MIK Agiles into the US) will ship to UK.

Members GarysBlues
Basically when you come right down to it. You could pick out any electric you want. And put P-90's in it. Regardless of if its a Single-Coil equipped electric or a Humbucker equipped. Lot of nice P-90 electrics mentioned though.
Members Willyguitar
I would second the recomendation of an Epi Goldtop RI. I have one, and it is superb. I got it knocked off to
Members Brian Krashpad
Another inexpensive model that may be available in the UK is the German company Hofner's "Colorama Special," an MIK or MIC import: Not quite sure what's up with the wandering pickup-selector switch though! Members Dudleyjackson
Vintage LP copies can be good, just check the fretwork [from my experience]. Play some Locally. They do these http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/72459, I wouldn't buy one sight unseen. The P90 copies sound pretty good.
