Also love the look of the 'beatle bass' and enjoy the sound of Macca's Hofner (even though I'm sure this $150 knock off won't come close to the real tone, but can maybe replicate it decently). It was the guitarist's and it didn't work right, so I rewire it for one pickup and one volume. It was fun, didn't sound incredible for what we did (loud, instrumental, mathy indie/metal, rock), but it was alright. It did this weird volume swell thing... I'd face it in any direction, hit a note and let it ring... it would reverberate around in the body, swell outward, and go up and down in volume... basically, hit the note, wait five seconds, swell up louder than when I first hit it, lower back down, swell up again...
