First of all, I didn't really want to clog up EG with this, but as my PMs to the mods seems to have been ignored, I'm trying a different approach.

Please. I understand why you want to keep EG fairly on-topic, and therefore move selected threads to GJ, rather than delete them in their entirety. Fair enough. What I'm not understanding, though, is what is so hard about changing their title, tagging them, to inform us what the deal is. Hmm?

Thanks in advance. I'm getting tired of having small aneurysms reading through thread after thread with tons of "who-the-hell-are-these-people" moments.

One of the reasons I like this place is that it is an "on topic only" forum to discuss electric guitars. I think some things relate to guitars, such as amps/gigs/band questions/etc. but many threads do not. It's disrespectful to all forumites to post off-topic threads. Placing an "OT" before a post does not make it ok to violate the rules.

I see spammers get jumped all over pretty quickly by the population here, but post something way off topic and several forumites will chime right in to keep bumping the thread right along. I always think, "Are they really that big of an idiot that they don't realize the thread is off topic, or do they just not respect the rules?" It's been out of hand lately and makes it more difficult to focus on the threads that genuinely are on-topic.

Hey, don't get me wrong; keeping EG an on topic forum is a good thing. I'm just a bit tired of wading through threads addling my brain trying to figure out who all these people are. A simple ([Moved] ...thread title...) would suffice. :cop:

I don't think he's complaining about having off-topic posts. I think the problem is that sometimes a thread gets started here, gets 2 or 3 pages of flames, and then is magically transferred over to Guitar Jam with no indication there of where it came from. Guitar Jam is a pretty screwy forum sometimes anyway, so when there's an automatic 3 page flame war full of people who never post there, it sometimes gets hard to keep up. A simple "Moved: " in the thread title could possibly clear up the confusion.

What gets me though, is that Guitar Jam is also supposed to be semi-on-topic. We all know that it's not, but when somebody in Electric Guitars starts a thread about the cup size of their favorite porn star and it gets moved to Guitar Jam instead of to Open Jam (or nuked all together) it gets a little irritating. We start more than enough {censored}ty off-topic threads over there...we don't need help from other forums.
