Members Glenn F
Hi, An Epiphone Casino will probably be my next guitar. I will have to buy an Elitist to try one, though, because the local shop only has the Chinese model (which I tried, and thought it was pretty good). The Elitist comes with a case, has better tuners, and American P90s. Is there any other obvious improvements that would make the price difference worth it? Cheers, and thanks, Glenn

The Elitist is a FANTASTIC instrument. I was totally impressed. The standard Casinos are hit-or-miss. I've played a couple that were terrific. Played a couple that were meh. What's the price difference between the elitist and the standard?

Members Glenn F
So, that's about $1500. Pretty substantial. What are your other guitars? What kind of music you play? Yeah, it is substantial, which is why I am doing my research as well as I can before I take the plunge. I play a lot of classic rock, blues, some prog rock, and write my own stuff. I have a MIA Strat; Gibson SG Junior w/P90 (!); Ibanez ST 50; a humbucking workhorse; Ibanez Artcore AS103NT; great guitar, actually. Seagull S12; Taylor 310; Martin D-15. Hanika 54PC; classical. A few others that are on the chopping block to pay for the new ones I want this year. Cheers, Glenn
Members roygbiv
Nice collection. If you can afford it, go for the Elitist. The one I played was definitely one of "those" guitars that stick in your head. You know--one that rises above the ordinary crop.

I will probably order one of the Elitists, as I will have a 30 day full refund policy to protect me if necessary. Some of the reviews on this site aren't too positive, though. I would expect there's a certain amount of 'hit and miss' even with these guitars. Ever since I bought the SG Junior, I've been lusting after another guitar with P90s, and the Casino seems to be the logical choice. Members roygbiv
I love the sound of the P90s and the hollow body Casino. It's a unique sound and definitely worth trying out. Incredibly sweet feedback with the right amp, too.
