Members bmast160
can someone please explain some stuff for me on the this... why it seems that when the s-1 switch is out the guitar sounds "clearer"...is it because when the s1 is in there is a preamp wired into the circuit? also why when teh s1 is out and the pickup selector is all the way up(thus just the neck pickup is selected)...does the tone knob for the bridge pickup affect the sound a little bit? Members sk8centilli
Something about being wired in a series, parallel and phase. I have forgotten which one is which and where, but here's the nuts of it: when engaged (down) you get a humbucker-esque sound and when disengaged, typical Strat. Members MichaelSaulnier
Check out www.fender.com. They have a complete explanation of each of the S-1 settings for a strat. Normally, they have a nice little guide that comes with each new guitar setup for this... didn't you get it? The reason the S-1 works with only one pickup selected is that it adds one or more additional pickups... in series or in parallel. M
