Members Fuzzlabs
The only objection I have to the whole Buzz Feiten thing is his claim to have invented nut compensation - not that he calls it that. Reinvented perhaps... but all the guitar makers and repairmen going back over 100 years who have done it - though admittedly not usually in a factory setting - should get some credit. I do appreciate his marketing skills making nut compensation something people are learning about and interested in - but a lot of luthiers consider the patent questionable, as so many guitar patents are. No question that it works, only whether your guitar and ears demand it. If one looks at the history of guitars closely enough and far enough back in time, pretty much anything anyone comes up with has been done by someone somewhere... and often repeatedly. Members fetishfrog
I believe PRS was doing nut compensation from the beginning. I never heard that he claimed to have invented nut compensation (I may very well be wrong about that) or attempted to patent it, I think his patent extends to the whole 2 part process, part 1 of which is moving the nut.
