Members germs
Depends on what exactly you're swapping. Some are not compatible between certain years. Details?

Like if I wanted a thinner, more rounded one. I have a 2004 anniversary deluxe. I am not sure of the model but it looks like this.

Yes I'd like to hear about this too. From what I understand, a strat neck is a strat neck is a strat neck. As long as it's 2 3/16" at the heel, and has a 25.5" scale, you just bolt that sucker on. I think maybe you're talking about the 3-Bolt neck mistake of the 70's vs. the 4-bolt neck of pre- and post-CBS Fender. Suffice it to say, any 4-bolt neck (90% or more of readily available strat necks) will probably fit.
Members inkblot
Only takes a couple minutes to take one neck off and stick another on if you've got a drill driver work those long screws. Moving the tuners to the new neck will take longer.
Members relva3
Some Am Deluxes I've seen have an offset 4-pattern, which wouldn't fit a standard neck. Thats about the only exception I can think of.

Thats about the only exception I can think of. It would still fit, it would just have a hole hanging out from the heel. And you'd have to drill a new hole.
