Members garethjrichards
Hi, I'm about to buy this guitar however I'm not sure if it is legit. The price is US$262 and the guitar is a "Diplomat". I've never heard of the brand and the owner says this guitar is about 40 years old. As you can see from the picture it does look vintage with the pickups etc. How much is it worth? and can anyone give me a history on this brand and even the model? Thanks, pic below! http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/znTZkLk4Cf9FlsP4jf96ng?feat=directlink
Members Verence
Looks the same as a Greco I had. Microphonic single coils. A bolt-on, most likely. I liked mine quite a lot. If it's in good shape I'd say that's a decent price. Be sure to check out the frets.
Members docjeffrey
It looks like the typical Japanese fare from the 60's or early 70's. Don't expect it to play like a Suhr or Anderson:-)

Don't expect it to play like a Suhr or Anderson:-) Yep- Japanese model from the late 60s- early 70s, likely from the Matsumoko factory. Will almost certainly be a bolt on. Playability may be somewhat lacking (fret or neck issues, trem/tuner issues, the afore-mentioned microphonic pickups, wiring, etc) but they look cool Try to get him down a little on the price, especially if you see any issues.
