Members B4z1k
Hey guys So I got a nice Ibanez a little while ago. The awd102nt. It's a really nice axe, beautiful too. But the neck pup seems... muddy and a bit dead. It's very bassy, and a little tooo glassy for my taste. Any recommendations? And the bridge is a little bit trebley and lacks some balls. Both are Ibanez Super58s, in gold. I was looking at a mean90 for the neck Thanks Mike
Members Singin' Dave
Not sure of your budget, but I'm a big fan of SD Seth Lovers in semi hollows. Filterons are cool too.

You could use gold post screws like I did. I think in black they would look SHARP in your axe! Good looking guitar BTW!

One of the mods over at the Duncan forum swears by the Pearly Gates set in a semi-hollow. Thank you CC! Sadly, I'll have to stop posting it now since it is no longer mine. The SemiHollow LP took its place. I plays, feels and sounds incredible. I wanted to install BG pups in that too but Bryan doesn't make mini humbuckers... yet. I'm jealous, I had a Casino I was going to have the pickups rewound on, but I had to sell it. My next set of pickups are going to be from BG; where else can you get hand wound pickups made to your specs?
Members Verne Andru
I put a set of SD P-Rails in my semi. Lets me switch between PAF, P-90 and single coils. Makes for an extremely versatile rig.

Imagine, cream with gold studs on my axe

Members DaleH
If I get a Semi. I would like to try a set of these Bare Knuckle Stormy Monday pickup.I have only heard clips but think there nice. Only thing they cost more than most of my guitars. Members gt5litre
The Super 58s are very good pickups, although the earlier versions could be micro-phonic. The later versions as used in the AS 80 and 120 were haevily wax-potted, a bit too heavily in my opinion. The newer Custom 58s, as I understand them, are built with ceramic magnets, whereas the Super 58s used alnico.

Members whataracket
Super 58s are not my first choice, but they're not bad. Have you tried monkeying with pickup height? Make sure they're close enough to the strings or they can be a bit lifeless. Also, heavier strings will sound better.
Members B4z1k
Fiddled with the poles and heights last night, the neck pup is just too boomy for me. The bridge now sounds spectacular though.
