Members fuzztone
Which do you like better the more ergonomic compact body and 24 fret neck of the the New Style body or the pointy horns and 21 fret neck of the Old Style body.

Members d_dave_c
does the neck pickup being farther back make much difference? other than the R tailpiece (lack of), I prefer the old, personally.

Members EllenGtrGrl
I like both equally. And visually, they both look like the lower bout is the same width. Admittedly, the newer style has the rounded edges on the upper surface.

New style body but with older 21-fret neck You just have to find one made between 1964 and 1973 before they changed to 24 fret necks

Alot of people on the Rickenbacker forums think the 12k Higain pickups sound better with the 24 Fret neck and 7.5k Toasters pickups sound best with the 21 fret neck.My old style 360v64 has 12k Toasters which sounds great with either a 24 or 21 fret 6-string Rick(but on a 12-string the 7.5k toaster would sound better).
