Members Lionslicer
Playing on my new wide necked, through body Jackson, I find that my normal thumb positioning of hooked over the top while I am sliding chords past the the 12th fret isn't working because it is stretching out my hand too much to fret properly. Maybe my medium glove sized hand isn't big enough for this neck? It is probably a bad habit from being self-taught, so I figured I'd ask the community... Members nickeroo
Do not hook the thumb? Try thumb on the back of neck?
Members Bubbluz
Thumb should be on the back of the neck ideally. mine never is but I know it should be.
Members sylvesterlowery
Thumb over back limits the range of the rest of your fingers, unless you have really long fingers.Try keeping the pad of your thumb towards the center of the back of the neck. Members Lionslicer
Yeah, I generally have my thumb on the back of the neck and usually only hook when I am sliding up (in pitch). I'll have to work on it. Thanks.
