Members Badside Posted April 17, 2011 Members Share Posted April 17, 2011 It's been a couple of gigs like that: I bring a nice Fender Strat, a PRS-type guitar, and that 2 P90 partsocaster... I ended playing the whole gig with that one! And it's not a honeymoon thing, I bought all of these guitars around the same time (6 months ago). It's not even a special guitar, it's an alder body (1 piece though) from Jeff Head that I got with the Fender hardtail bridge for 100$ off of craiglist (guy decided to build a classic Strat instead), a Mighty Mite neck with jumbo frets, and Tonerider hot P90 set. But the damn guitar is just so incredibly versatile! Turn down the tone (used 10n cap instead of 22n) and it sounds like a humbucker, bring it back up and lower the volume and you get a cross between a Strat and a Tele. The neck with the jumbo frets just let my fingers do what the hell they want (didn't do any fret work).
