Members jw10
So I have an old 60s-70s amp, and it has no preamp section at all. If It possible to add some kind of Outboard gain section to the amp as I don't want to drill into it?

Members Belva
I may be wrong on this one, but I've heard that a booster pedal can be used as a preamp. Behringer sells one cheap that has tone controls and is worth having on your pedal board if it doesn't work. I'm using one in front of a Peavey Nanovalve that doesn't have a tone stack. I like it. Why not get one and see what happens? Maybe take the amp to a tech and have him give it a physical? Then let us know. I see this type of amp pulled from organs & sold on Evilbay quite often.
