Moderators justcrash Posted February 2, 2007 Moderators Share Posted February 2, 2007 Hey guys, I am desperate, I am making some commercials for a local radio contest and I had some girls read some parts for me at work. However, all I had to record them on was my mp3 player and they sound far away. Is there anything I can use to clean them up?

Members UstadKhanAli
I suppose you could try and EQ the midrange - something like 5k or so -and see if that helps at all. I don't know what else would work. Would expansion work? I've never done that with just a voice before, but maybe a little bit of expansion could make the ambient noise seem less apparent. I don't know that this would work. I'm just graspin' at straws here.
Members the stranger
You'd really think by now somebody would have come up with software to remove ambience/reverb. This question always comes up. The first thing I would do is try to use some compression to bring up the level. After that, try and use eq to clean it up. They might not be as bad as you think. And sitting in the context of the audio bed, you may be ok.
Members UstadKhanAli
If you used compression, I would think a quick release would be the way to go. This is sorta why I was thinking that an expander might work.
