  1. Your friend sounds like a douchebag. Why? Maybe the guy who buys all those guitars, then flips them for a profit, is buying second hand guitars which need a bit of work, giving them a real good setup, then selling them at fair (increased) value.
  2. Would it be rude to ask how the sound and feel of the VRS compares to a V100? What are the differences?
  3. thanks guys i love da boobies Fussy! When I have one of my rare new guitar days, I'm happy for whatever I get.
  4. Is there anyone bringing these guitars into Europe and selling them here? I doubt that double-cut LP Junior is still going is it?
  5. I've got a lucite Galveston Strat (strictly for grins). It was cheap and it shows. Pretty much a POS. It seems strange that a company would go to all the effort of developing a lucite guitar, and not make it a decent guitar.
  6. Some of the discussions about these guitars claim they are made out of "palm wood". I hadn't heard of this before, but as the name suggests, it's from coconut and date palms. I have a vague suspicion that it might not be a tonewood to rival mahogany. The seller claims that s/he can supply different types of guitar if the buyer provides a photograph. What would happen if we GIMP'd up a photo of a guitar that never existed, and send it? I found another review where someone bought a chinese fake. They said that it looked brilliant, but played awful. They were looking for better pickups to get that Gibson sound, as they said that on an electric guitar the tonewood was near irrelevant as far as sound was concerned.
  7. Whether or not the photograph shows a fake, the guitar being sold most certainly is. US$200 incl. p&p from China. The seller even admits its a fake. Looking at the Gibson site, only the HD-6x Pro Digital (!) has a headstock and truss rod cover approximating the fake above, but the tuners are way different. Look at image 4 out of 6 of the gallery here. http://www.gibson.com/en%2Dus/divisions/gibson%20usa/products/lespaul/hd6%2Dxprodigitallespaul/
  8. Yes, I think those are the ones on eBay shipped by a seller in Shanghai. They also have Rollex watches and Somy DVD players. This came from ioffer, where the ebay people probably get their stock from. Some of the ioffer sellers seem to be claiming legitimacy because they're upfront about the instruments being fakes. This one has the two screw truss rod cover. Presumably it's a real photo of the copy if it says "Gibsun". In another listing there was a hilarious exchange between the seller and an incensed owner of a real Gibson whose photos the seller had nicked.
  9. Do my eyes deceive me, or does this actually say "Gibsun"?
