  • Gig report - David Grier

I live in a little backwoods town in eastern Washington, but we have a thriving local music scene.   Last night our coffee house hosted flatpicking ace David Grier.   Cost at the door - 3 bucks a head, free refreshments and almost three hours of

David played his D28 clone (he said who the builder was but I'm afraid it didn't register) but the real treat was that he played a 1937 D18 (yeah, the grail) that belongs to a local musician.   There is a very good reason that prewar Martins are the standard by which others are judged and in Griers hands it was incredible.

    Life is good

Man, that was great. Wish I could have been there!
