Members gitmojo
Hi, if anyone could help me identify this Sears guitar I would really appreciate it... Kind of strange 4/2 head set up. Thanks.

Members lefort_1
It is definitely a Teisco. That pickup is actually one of my very favorite pickups of all time. Not too hot, not too twangy, but it definitely has a tele-ish vibe to it. When I can find them, I use them in Lap steels I build or modify. On you guitar, I'd look for a different bridge setup, and probably move the pickup to the bridge position, unless you are after that Harmony H-44 vibe. That neck, if not warped, should be tweakable to play fairly well. I'd recommend doing it yourself, as many luthiers/setup guys will mock the guitar, but once the bridge is swapped out and the pickup is moved, and the neck is fine-tuned, it can be a decent player and you can probably find a use for it's sound somewhere in your music. Here's are 2 pics - one of a (moderately) modified SX Lappy with that very pickup in it...also a rails-HB with a few switches just for fun: - the other is my own Teisco with 3 of those pickups on it...the neck has been worked and is amazingly playable... I may put some wide frets and dress the daylights out of it.
