  • Did John Coxon leave Spiritualized?

He wasn't with them at the Metro in Chicago last Thursday, and the show was a bit disappointing without him.

I guess he did. Lately the constant one has been doggen.

He didn't tour with them in 2008 either, it's not so much that he's "left", more that he isn't a full-time member of the band and plays with them occasionally.

Oh, okay. I've seen them five times now and this was the first gig that he wasn't playing with them. Thanks erased_over_out.

Last time I saw him do a full tour with them was 2004. He did the LAGWAFIS shows in 2009-11 and the October 2011 UK shows, but has a lot of irons in the fire - Spring Heel Jack, the Treader label and London jazz scene stuff: probably got prior commitments.

...And the album release/tour dates got changed so many times...

I'm seeing Spiritualized in 2 weeks. And a Spacemen 3 style band from Sweden, the Orange Revival, in 2 days.

thighpaulsandra hasn't been w/ them since Let It Come Down. Another John Coxon thing worth checking out is the "Start And Complete", the second release by About Group

Has anyone ever heard of White Manna? My mate put me on them last week. EP streaming http://whitemanna.bandcamp.com/ . Definitely shares some similarities with heavier S3 and Spiritualized.

Yeah but if it was a Spaceman 3 returns thread it'd be empty.
