15 inch Speaker for both Guitar and Bass?

I'm looking for a 15-inch speaker that could be used for both guitar and bass. It will go into an Alamo Fury all-tube combo, just 30 watts. I would like to be able to use this amp for practice and small gigs. So far I'm looking at the following:

Eminence Legend 1518 - 150 watts

Eminence American Standard Beta 15A - 300 watts

Any thoughts?

The 1518 has enough range for guitar.

I bought a pair of 15" Celestions TE-BS-15300 8ohm awhile back that sound killer for guitar and bass.

They were made for Trace Elliot amps. I think they were very close to these.

I bought a pair form Parts Express but I think they are discontinued.

They had a 98db SPL and a 45~4Khz frequency response. I paid $99 for the pair with shipping.

These are the newer versions that have nearly identical specs. I like Celestions over Eminance myself but they're both good speakers.

30W is going to be pretty whimpy for bass so that speaker should be able to handle it at 100W standing on its head. I probably wouldn't go for a higher wattage speaker. Too high, the cone is too stiff and will barely move and produce a decent resonance in the cab which you'll need to get the bass to sound good. The higher the SPL rating the louder the speaker is for the same wattage.

Plus the head is voiced for guitar not bass so having at least one instrument optimized will allow your EQ controls to sweep full range and dial a bass guitar in. The 1518 will do the trick or the Fullback. I'd just shop for the best price between the two. Jenson used to make some decent 15's too. You can check the prices on those too as well as the Webbers.

I ran across a Fender guitar amp at a music pawn shop that had a 15" stock speaker. I think it was a Reverb but not sure. I haven't seen anything like it before. Didn't try it but it sure looked cool. And expensive at $900

Depending on the age of the amp it might have been a '65 Twin Custom 15: http://www.americanmusical.com/Item--i-FEN-2173000-LIST. Those go for $1550 new so $900 doesn't actually sound that bad. The Fender Excelsior has a 15" as well but it doesn't look anything like a twin: http://www.amazon.com/Fender-2303010000-Excelsior-120v/dp/B007L5VXMQ. Peavey did something similar years ago with the Artist 240, which was a tube combo with a single 15".
