Members DeepEnd
I've been looking for a cheap but decent guitar amp and a local pawn shop has a Roland Spirit 25A (25 Watts, 1X10) for $30. I've done a web search for the amp and prices run anywhere from $23 to $155 with a average (of six prices) of around $105. This particular specimen has a Crate speaker installed, which is a definite negative. Is it worth the price or should I keep looking? Thanks. Edit: Okay, I did some research and found out Crate speakers are generally made by Eminence so the existing speaker should be decent enough. Members WRGKMC
Its all about how it sounds. $30 shouldn't bust your bank and it should make a good practice amp.
Members DeepEnd
Thanks. I intend to check it out later this week, say Friday. If it sounds okay and plays loud enough I'll probably play in worship through it (one of the advantages of a small church). My fellow praise band guitarist has a 35 Watt Peavey for that purpose and all else being equal a 25 Watter should be close enough. If not, I can mike it and, anyway, as you said $30 is a pretty small investment.
