    pfff I went to the store last week asking for the price of an xplorer

    first of the guy in the store makes an ass comment " you do know It cost alot of money ! "

    that's no way to sell a guitar !

    then I hear that the wait time for a LEFTHAND xplorer goes up to 8 months !!!!!!!! **************** that !!!

            My first electric was a real Gibson Explorer. Back in '85, Guitar Center in San Jose had a bunch of Gibson factory second Vs and Explorers and sold them for $300. I wish I had kept it.

                look perfect for an '80 s hear metal band

                no serieus , i have seen one of those in black at music market in Hasselt a while ago. Looks nice.

                  I saw one before that and it was in a local music store (i think the dealer bought it off ebay cus the week before the exact same gutar was on ebay) it was loaded with emg 81's and a kahler i think

                    it was probably some 80's model. Unless it's a custom, in these years you could choose between several options including the schaller.

                    I personally love floyds but I'm not a kahler fan

                      I have a custom shop purple burst 1984 explorer with gold hardware thats gathering dust. Maybe I should post a pic, or sell it.

                              It would'nt be fair for me to answer but I will anyway.
                              I dont like Dean guitars. Some like'm but I dont. The Gibson will be of better quallity but worth your hard earned cash is up to you.
                              Go see and play both, then decide for yourself.

                                I'd take a USA Dean over a USA Gibson any day, and I've got a bunch of both. But to compare an import line to a USA guitar isn't fair.
                                Straight-Jacket memories, and Sedative highs... the Good Old Days.
