Members Megadeth Man
Updating this for future reference in case anyone needs to know how to wire the Ibanez 5 Way Switch 2502N (Part No. 3PS1SC5) that comes in H-H guitars. The wire colours are for Seymour Duncan's, different manufacturers use different colour schemes so you just need to look up what your pickups are. If positions 2, 3 & 4 sound out of phase then swap around the neck pickup North/South Starts & do the same with the neck North/South Finishes. Members tommythelurker
No way, Obama will save the world!! (apparently FF hasn't added Obama's name to the spell checker yet ) I haven't really been able to find 2502N specific info but I think the switch logic you have is wrong. Where did you find that? Does this look like your switch? http://www.ibanez.com/parts/2001_PARTS/EL-GUITAR/PARTS-PICT/3PS1CGAE5.HTM#3PS1CGAE5

A guy mapped it out and I'm pretty confident it's accurate.
Members tommythelurker
OK, you might be right then. Haven't seen that one before, that's a little funky. Would take a while to wrap my brain around that.

Members Megadeth Man
I always suspected that most people had their pickups wired up wrong. Tip: different makers use different colour wires, yo. I'll wire it like I proposed and see how it goes.

Members Megadeth Man
schem please? it was really easy to do on my strat, but i think i was drunk when doing it on the SG When the two coil finish wires are connected you have a normal series humbucker. A switch that grounds that connection is typically what is used to tap one of the coils. http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wiring-diagrams/schematics.php?schematic=2h_2v_2t_3w_2pp

That is, assuming you're talking about coil splitting and not actually coil tapping.

Members Y0UNGBL00D
ah. actually explaining what happens to the signal made a lot more sense. most companies dont give their schematics as actual circuit schematics, so anyone with circuit knowledge not used to looking at pup wiring looks at it a bit weird. i would rather see everything laid out stnadard schematic than "put the red wire here". know what i mean? anyway, thanks for the help.
