Members Zozobra
New cab day! Well this is my buds but mine isnt going to be far behind. Loaded with hot-100s.
Members superflyinmonke
That looks great. What kind of joints did you use? It looks like a cab within a cab, but the outside is prettier.
Members Zozobra
Thanks. Screw pocket joint with glue. I looked into finger and dovetail joints but they're a bit touch and go to use on plywood as it can cause the plys to split if you're unlucky. Members superflyinmonke
Cool. I'm looking into building one, myself. I am going to build a cab basically to Mesa Traditional specs.
Members -Assy-
Nice, I am going to build one soon for a Mark III head. Going to be solid pine though, ultimate vibrationz
Members Zozobra
Looks awesome. Matamp inspired? It's a good look This is a bit deeper than a matamp retro 412 so it can take B tunings without resonance making it farty. My matamp cab gets a bit farty with a low C. Members chip39
Is this your first one that looks pretty damn immaculate. I build mine the first time I bought a head thinking it would be way cheaper which I have found is not true but its fun. However now that I have built one every time I want a new cab I guilt trip myself into thinking I have to build it and they take forever for me. The next one is definitely getting stained instead of tolex. Tolexed is the most damn annoying part!
Members ManofWar55
This sounds dumb, but is there something particular you have to do/use to build a cab? It's looks ridiculously straight forward.
Members Zozobra
Yeah thats the first cab we've built. We were mainly shooting out the dimensions and ideas but we're happy with how it turned out. As for building them they're pretty simple really. Its just a box after all. There are some design considerations to be aware of though. Duncanamps has some good information on it.
Members cap'n'crunch
Looks like a double walled cab. Can two people move it? How much does it weigh?
Members Sheik_Yerbouti
Noice!
Members Zozobra
Its single walled. Thats just a frame in the back. One person can carry it although its awkward. Its easy enough with 2 though. Haven't weighed.
Members Lord ToneKing
We call that 3/4" ;-) Takes a skill to do that. Give the average person some plywood, saws, routers, etc.. and see what they come up with, lol That looks nice

Members Alan Roberts
Looks good. Nice work! But, man it looks heavy.
Members Zozobra
Weights only really a problem if you're in the habit of moving cabs by yourself and most the difficulty there is the shape. When we load in and out for gigs and whatnot we usually form a daisy chain of three people so we can move my cab and the bass cab at the same time.
