Moderators MrKnobs Posted January 24, 2013 Moderators Share Posted January 24, 2013 Junk? Worth $199?If not, why not? Also, anyone have a suggestion for a rack mount stereo amp that puts out 100w / channel and is LIGHT? Would be used in a guitar amp rack, isn't going to have to reproduce any deep low end.Terry D.

You can get either the Crown XLS1000 or Peavey IPR1600 for about $250 new - I've used them both. The X1000 isn't listed on Crown's website - it seems to be only sold by GC/MF and their various AKA's - seems fishy to me? I couldn't find a weight for it either. I couldn't find much info on it but figured I can return it pretty easily. It's not my intention to put this amp in my guitar rig, this is for monitors. I'm ALSO looking for a lightweight (maybe digital) amp for my guitar rig.Terry D.
Members Crownman
For a nice lightweight amp for your guitar rig check out Matrix amps. They're nice but kind of expensive. I just bought a Rocktron Velocity 300 for my rig and love it. Its 1ru but its also 15lbs. But its still lighter than the old 2ru velocity 300 it replaced.
