Members boosh
I still wonder why some engineers can create perfect mixes that make me see the music in front of me,...colorful and in 3d when I close my eyes. Other engineers however do nothing for me. Russ Ragsdale is a perfect example,..he sent me a mix last week ,..when listening I could see the whole band in front of me. Phil 'o'Keefe sent me an awsome mix also this week.... Now I'm listening to the new Madonna album done by Timbaland and I see nothing,...It's all in your face with no depth at all. Moderators Lee Knight Posted April 21, 2008 Moderators Share Posted April 21, 2008 Oh yeah. Something about people playing in a room together will do that. That and the chops to capture like Phil or Russ can. I've been listening to Mancini stuff again. Wow. Al Green. Wow again. Then I listen to the Band for instance. here is a band I love. But there is no sonic landscape. It's more, "dodge the train wreck". Like I said, I love the Band, but they're recordings were never captured like they could have been. The chops to capture a group of guys laying it down. Nashville's good at that.
